We have some exciting news to share about your 2025 courses!
Over the weekend we obtained approval to share our 2025 TMiler and T102 courses.
As we’ve previously communicated, we’re stoked to be returning to the “traditional” format of our T102 and TMiler courses, with the TMiler loop course starting at Te Puia and finishing in Rotorua, and the T102 starting in Kawerau and running point-to-point back to Rotorua.
The newest section of course links the Outlet Aid Station and Okataina Aid Station for both races. This section reroutes around the Eastern Okataina Walkway, which remains closed due to slips. The new route will take runners up into the Rotoiti 15 forest, on forestry roads, double track, and single track. You can expect more elevation gain in this section compared to the Northern Tarawera Trail and Eastern Okataina Walkway, but it will be more runnable. Exact alignment and aid station locations through this section are subject to change, with the team working through this new section over the coming weeks, however, the details on the website now give you a good representation of what to expect.
We’re also introducing a new section of course for the TMiler between the Rotomahana boat crossing, Rerewhakaaitu aid station, and Wihapi aid station. This removes the approx. 10km section of road running and puts you onto trails through forest and farmland.
You can view the latest course maps over on our website now, including distances, elevation profile and elevation gain, and aid station information. As always, all information is subject to change before the event.
We are extraordinarily grateful for the support of all our landowners and their willingness to open up their whenua (land) for our runners to traverse on race day. Please note, like the Tarawera Forest, the Rotoiti 15 forest and all roads and trails in it, as well as the new sections of the TMiler course around Rerewhakaaitu, are all on private land and may not be accessed outside of race day.
If you’ve been eyeing up the T102 or TMiler and waiting on courses to be confirmed, now is the time to lock your entry in and commit to joining us on the trails in 2025, and secure savings by entering before midnight 8 August.
We look forward to sharing this stunning new taiao (environment) as well as the rest of our course with you in February.
